Condemnation statement from the Kurdish National Council in Syria
ARK News: Qamishlo city witnessed three simultaneous terrorist operations on the afternoon of Monday, 11/11/2019, using booby-trapped vehicles and detonating them in the center of the city and in densely populated areas, which resulted in the death of a number of citizens and the injury of dozens of existing ones and the destruction of many commercial shops, on this day, Father Hosib Beduyan, the pastor of the Armenian Catholic Church in Qamishlo, was attacked by an armed group on his way to Deir al-Zour, killing him with his father, who was also accompanied with him.
These cowardly terrorist crimes and their targeting of civilians are part of a series of terrorist attacks in other cities in the region recently in order to intimidate people into migration, complementing the deportation and displacement in the rest of the military operations of the Turkish attack, and comes within the framework of the resurgence of ISIS in light of the new situation in the region.
The Kurdish National Council strongly condemns the heinous crime of the assassination of Father Hosib Beduyan and the terrorist attacks in Qamishlo and those behind them, it calls upon the international community and the concerned states to block the return of terrorism by stopping all military operations and providing a safe area under international auspices and protection, it also appeals to the people of the region in all its components to cling to their land and to join forces and maintain civil and social peace, and to miss the opportunity for those who are entrusted with their security and safety and the future of their children.
