President Barzani: Religion and homeland are linked
ARK News: President Masoud Barzani stressed that religion and the homeland are linked, and pointed out that terrorism committed a great betrayal against Islam, which is a religion of love and tolerance.
President Barzani's comments came on Sunday 22.9.2019 during a visit to the headquarters of the Union of Muslim Scholars in Kurdistan in Erbil to congratulate on the anniversary of its founding.
President Barzani said that the Union of Islamic Scholars played a pivotal role in the fateful issues of the people of Kurdistan, especially during the Aylul (September) Revolution.
He added that the clerics in Kurdistan should continue their march in educating society about Islam as "a religion of tolerance, love, peace, and brotherhood."
President Barzani explained that the terrorists committed a "great betrayal" against the Islamic religion by killing, burning people and destroying, pointing out that religion and the homeland are linked to each other.
