Afrin … Distortion (changing) a girl’s name from "Kurdistan" to "Gulistan”

ARK News: A Human Rights Organization working to document violations in the Afrin region of Kurdistan said on Tuesday 25/6/2019 that the local council in the city center of Afrin deliberately changed the name of a Kurdish girl from Kurdistan to Gulistan during the issuance of identification cards, and various villages witnessed in the region campaigns of abduction of Kurdish civilians.

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin said in its report on Tuesday 25.6.2019" said that “we have discussed on 28/05/2019 the issue of issuing identification cards to citizens in Afrin region through the local councils of Afrin city and its affiliated towns. We mentioned that the citizenship "Kurdistan Hasan" is from the village of Hasan Kalkawi of Rajo town and lives in Afrin city. She was not able to obtain her identity card under the real name, but was registered as "Gulistan Hasan".

The source added, "The local council then presented a weak argument to make the necessary correction as – breakdown in the network system of the site - and despite the passage of nearly a month and reviewing the citizenship of Kurdistan to the Department of Civil Administration to replace the card - falsely intentionally - by the Council, but she has not succeeded until today to achieve her desire for unknown reasons. Therefore, she appeals to human rights organizations to stand in the face of practices and violations against them to restore her real name in the records and her identity to be able to claim their legitimate civil rights in the acquisition and to exercise of her function in accordance with laws and regulations in force globally.

Regarding violations of the rental of Kurdish property by armed factions, the organization noted: "Armed elements of various names carry out the acts of the Mafias gangs of kidnappings to collect ransom, deception and fraud by renting the houses which they took over them after the expulsion of the indigenous people from the Kurds to the settlers under imaginary contracts between the parties and after spending time in the house and another force comes and expels the resident and rent the house again and so on. "

The leaders of the armed factions also sell and purchase some of the houses belonging to forcibly displaced people, especially those belonging to the former administration, of the PYD and disregard the laws and procedures in force in this regard (debentures, ownership of Land Registry).

In the area of Mabata the Organization revealed: "The civilian police in the area in coordination with the militias of Liwaa of Muhammad al-Fateh of the faction of Sultan Murad started a campaign of kidnapping of citizens in the village of Araba on 14/06/2019 under the pretext of dealing with the PYD and kidnapped a group of citizens - we published previously on 15/06/2019 - and taken to an unknown destination and they are:
1. Ali Mohammed bin Hanif school’s director
2. Firas Hanan bin Izzat school’s teacher
3. Mustafa Yusuf bin Bahjat was named by the factions as (Mustafa Shukri), and then they were forced to pay a ransom of 150 thousand Syrian pounds for their release, knowing that their fate is still unknown. "

The organization also noted "on Sunday, 19/06/2019, the campaign was completed again by abducting each of the following citizens:
1- Ibrahim Khalil Jimki.
2- Mustafa Rashid Youssef nicknamed(Abu Hajji).
3- Nasrat Mohammed Antaabi.
4- Zakaria Ibrahim Pa’po.
5- Mohammed Ahmed Habash.
6- Saeed Abdeen Jimki.
7- Rashid Nori Habash nicknamed (Rasho Sharo).

These abductees are added to the former abductees from the village more than a year ago (03/04/2018) whose fate is still unknown to today's date:
1- Jiwan Mohammed Noor Youssef
2- Ibish Ibrahim Khalil Habash
3- Walat Hasan Tashi
4- Mustafa Abdul Rahman Pa’po
5- Mohammed Zakaria Tatar
6- Khalil Hasan Hasan

In Shara town the Organization addressed to the abuses which were happening in it saying: “Some Kurdish citizens who own houses in the village of Qitme and those who are close to the main road (Afrin - Aleppo) are surprised by phone calls by armed elements and settlers who are forced to pay for their homes for maintaining to their electrical appliances, utensils, carpets and furnishings so as not to be stolen by unknown militias who are continuously roaming the village and the surrounding areas. "

In the area of Bulbul, the Organization continued that " on Monday morning, 24/06/2019, a huge fire broke out in the mountain overlooking the village of Haziro - Farm of the village of Khidria belonging to the area of Bulbul by an unknown act and the fire extended at a distance of kilometers and eliminate the surrounding forest trees in the village and some of the fruit trees in the scattered fields on the edge of the mountain. The news was circulated by the armed militias and some of the beneficiaries of the people to benefit from the trees that were exposed to fires in the coal industry and trade.

As for the village of Shingle which lives a life belonging to the era of feudalism. According to the orders of the commander of the so-called Hamzat faction who controlled the village called Abu Zakour after he had stolen and looted the spring season (grape leaves) at night and had imposed the royalty on the villagers in the day. He carried out for some days in restricting the freedom of some people from the village and forced them not to leave their homes until they were allowed to go to work between their farmland, according to restricted statements at the security headquarters of the faction.”

In the Jenderes town, according to the report of the Organization: "On 24/06/2019 Rustam Misto, who is a resident of Aghjalye village of Jenderes town, lost his life in mysterious circumstances, after he headed from his village by motorcycle towards the village (farm) Rif’atye and from which he would go to the city of Afrin and before reaching the highway near the checkpoint erected by the armed elements at the intersection, a fire broke out it between the agricultural land and motorcycle was parked near the checkpoint and the elements tried to extinguish the fire and rescue him to a Turkish hospital, according to the account of the elements of the checkpoint, but to no avail.”

Since the domination of Turkey and the armed factions on the Kurdish region of Afrin, violations, and abuses and inhuman practices against the Kurds continuing from murder, torture, kidnapping, material extortion, robbery, seizure of absentees' property, and those present with false arguments. Most of these arguments are dealing with the PYD. The explosions that occur between the period and the other became a phenomenon which occur in the region that caused the occurrence of victims of human and material against the Kurds and settlers in the region and also create a state of panic among civilians, the most recent of which were two explosions in the city center of Afrin – Al-Shar’iya park.
