Afrin: Finding the body of a Kurdish thrown among fields with traces of torture

ARK News: A Human Rights Organization in the Kurdish region of Afrin, which is working on documenting violations, practices and abuses by armed factions said that residents found on Sunday, June 23, 2019 the body of Sharaf Addin Sido, who had been kidnapped with Rashid Khalil and his child's son on 13/5/2019 in the area of Izaz.

The human rights organization in Afrin said that "arrived on Sunday, 23/06/2019 unfortunate news of the citizens of Sharaf al-Din Sido from the town of Genders found the thrown body in a field near the village of Qastal Jendo of Shara town and the appearance of the effects of burning of the body, after the brutal torture and assassination to receive the burning body from the military hospital in Afrin city note that the body of Rashid Hamid Khalil was found on 22/05/2019 near the site of the body which found also today with the effects of brutal beatings and torture and pokes of one of his eyes”.

The Organization confirmed saying: "The fate of the child Mohammed Khalil son of Rashid Khalil is unknown to this day despite the issuance of propaganda for his release and the looting of a sum of $ 10,000 US dollars for his release with the citizen Sharaf Addin Sido shortly before the killing of one of the elements of the gang by the internal elements In the military police in Afrin city and the arrest of another element of the gang and the escape of the rest to the areas of the province of Idlib."

The three citizens are:
1. -Sharaf Addin Sido
2. -Rashid Hamid Khalil
3. -Mohammed Khalil bin Rashid Khalil. They were kidnapped by an armed gang in the city of Izaz on 13/05/2019 while they were going to a hospital to treat the burns of the child Mohamed.


In Rajo area, the Organization noted: "On 22/06/2019, an armed gang of six persons riding two military vehicles coming from Rajo side towards the area of Bulbul carried out an armed robbery against the citizen Haidar Mohammed Khalil from the village of “Kûra” of Rajo town and searched and intimidate him brutally When he was working on trimming olive trees in his field near the main road, but they did not find cash in his pocket, they stole the motorcycle that was in his possession and used for moving and running his own business.

The kidnappings and material extortion against Kurdish civilians continue in the Afrin region, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that 2,800 civilians had been abducted from Afrin until the end of June 2019.
