ARK News: A group of militias with their families left last Thursday, June 19, 2019, the village of Qarmitlq of Shiye town of the Kurdish region of Afrin towards the province of Idlib and the Izaz area.

A private source from Qarmitlq village told the ARK Media Foundation that 30 families of Arab settlers had left the village towards the town of Atma in Idlib and Izaz area in northern Aleppo.

The source added that the families who left the village are the families of militias from Al-Amshat and it is not clear yet why they left the village.

The source confirmed that there are fears by the villagers to replace them with other Arab settlers families because of the practices of Al-Amshat in the housing of Arab settlers families with Kurdish families, which has become a repeated phenomenon in the village.

The village of Qarmitlq is one of the villages belongs to Shiye town and is located on the Turkish border, and it has 300 houses. Because of the war that took place in Afrin in 2018, more than half of the population fled to the center of Jenderes, Afrin and Aleppo, while a number of families returned to their village which estimated 140 families out of 300 and in return a number of Arab settlers families settled instead of displaced Kurd's homes to areas of Aleppo countryside
