Statement on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the Arab Racial Belt

ARK News: The Country Leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party issued Resolution No. 52 On June 24, 1974, on the distribution of land seized from the Kurdish owners in 1965/1966/1967 under the pretext of applying the laws of land reform to the owners.

Under the mentioned aforementioned resolution above, the distribution of land adjacent to the Turkish border began at a depth of 10-15 km and a length of 275 km which is estimated at 1 million dunums under the pretext of flooding the Euphrates river to a number of villages in that region and was the beginning of the implementation of the racist project, which it was planned since the Baath Party took power in a military coup 1963.

The study which was presented by the head of political security, Mohamed Talab Hilal 1963, to the political and social reality of Hasaka province is a basic reference for the Country Leadership to implement all the items of study, thus, June 24 was a black day for the Kurdish people, where the construction of 40 Arab settlements began which came from the area of Manbij and Tabqa and of an average rate of 100 families in each settlement with all necessary services (water - electricity - paved roads - telephones) while these services were not available in any Kurdish village such services at that time.

Thus they were enabled in the land and at the same time pushed the harsh living situation and the need to continue the life of thousands of Kurdish peasants, who seized their lands, to leave their villages and go to major cities such as Damascus and work in bad conditions of unprecedented that the people subjected to such racist policy, which was intended to change the nature of the demographic composition of the region and they have partially achieved what they planned.

With the beginning of the Syrian revolution in 2011, the people were well prepared with hope for the revolution and they would regain their lost rights and dignity for half a century of the racist policy, violation of dignity and confiscation of property.

Rights do not die by the law of limitation, and that the Kurdish National Council will remain honest in the defense of the rights of the Kurdish people, demanding all the national and democracy forces in the country and the international community to fairness of the Kurds and by recognizing constitutionally the existence of the Kurdish people and the abolition of all exceptional policies and racist projects against them as the unjust Arabic Racial Belt and restore the situation to what it was before it was issued and compensate the affected people, and to return their confiscated property by the apartheid regime, and to participate together in the building of a new Syria in which justice and equality will be achieved in democratic pluralistic federal secular system.
