Losses of 19 billion SP and burning 40860 hectares of agricultural land in Kurdistan of Syria

ARK News: The Agriculture and Economics Body in the management of the PYD enforced as De facto management in Kurdistan of Syria announced that the value of the damage to agricultural crops suffered amounted to 19 billion Syrian pounds, while an area of 40860 hectares was exposed to combustion.

The Department of Agriculture and Economic Body in the PYD Management said these fires are distributed in the following areas: Al-Jazeera 34600, Kobani and its villages 2450, Tabqa 1850, Raqqa 1500, Deir Al-Zour 350, Manbij 110 hectares of the burnt farmland.

The Body added that the statistical tables included other losses, including the burning of 1,650 sacks (wheat and barley), 1,500 of them in Tabqa, 150 bags in Deir al-Zour, as well as the burning of trees and agricultural machinery, which were classified as follows: 2000 trees (Kobani and 500 in its rural, Tabqa 1500) and 3 agricultural machines, (two harvester machines one agricultural tractor), and one house in al-Jazeera.

It also said that the damage amounted to 19 billion Syrian pounds and killed seven people from the security forces and fire teams and residents during the process of extinguishing them, in addition to dozens of other injuries, indicating that there are three reasons led to the fires, namely: contrived, atmospheric factors, errors

The report confirmed that "the approximate area of farmland that has been exposed to burning by June 16 is 40,860 hectares.

It is worth mentioning that the new fires outbreak in Kurdistan of Syria on Monday, 17/6/2019, causing the burning of hundreds of dunums of wheat and barley crops and the fires reached the homes of civilians in the village of Khirab Jehu.
