Minister of Agriculture of the regime in Qamishlo: We will not compensate farmers affected by the fires

ARK News: After the joint head of the economy department in the administration of the PYD Salman Baroudo announced that their potential is modest and cannot compensate farmers whose crops were exposed to fires, and they are neither a state nor a government to compensate the peasants, the regime also announced that it would not compensate the affected peasants.

In a framework of his visiting to Qamishlo city in Syrian Kurdistan, on Thursday 13th of this month, accompanied by Minister of Commerce Atef Al-Naddaf and governor of Hasaka Jayez Al-Mosa, the Minister of agriculture of the Syrian regime Ahmed Qadri said that the province of Hasaka is the capital of agriculture in Syria, and the fires that affected the crops of farmers in the areas of Hasaka province in Syrian Kurdistan is not included in the fund to mitigate the effects of drought and natural disasters, and that fires fall within the scope of the damage "by act or negligence" and this is not included in the compensation.

Al-Qadiri added that it is expected to produce 821 thousand tons of wheat and 1100 thousand tons of barley from all over the province of Hasaka.

It is worth mentioning that both the regime and the administration of the PYD are accusing each other of igniting the fires that have affected and devoured the crops of farmers throughout the province of Hasaka, which has caused the burning of more than 80 thousand dunums of land so far.
