Afrin … Kidnapping of a Kurdish citizen from "Basouta"

ARK News: An unknown armed group in the village of Basouta of the Kurdish city of Afrin kidnapped a Kurdish civilian and took him to an unknown destination.

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin in its report on Sunday 9/6/2019 the ARK Media Foundation received a copy of it said that the citizen Ali Battal bin Zaki, 38 years old from the village of Basouta - married with three children - was kidnapped by unidentified armed elements.

The organization also added that the kidnapping process was carried out while he was heading with his brother to work in al-Hal market in the entrance of Afrin city- a road of Turida village the side of the pipe factory (Hoses).

The organization confirmed that the kidnappers demanded a ransom for his release after contacting with his family without disclosing the amount.

Civilians in Afrin region are being exposed systematically of abducting by armed factions with the objective of extorting them financially and creating harassment for them to emptying the area of the remaining Kurds and settling the Arab families instead of them.
