ARK News: A civilian was killed and many others were wounded, including a child, in airstrikes by the Assad regime air force on the southern rural Idlib in the early morning hours of Saturday.

Local activists pointed out that Assad regime jets fired vacuum bombs on the farmlands surrounding the village of Arab Said in western rural Idlib.

Helicopters belonging to the Assad regime also dropped barrel bombs on the town of al-Habeet and the village of Qassabiya in southern rural Idlib.

The Syrian civil defense said that six civilians, including four children, were killed in the bombing campaign being launched by the Assad regime and Russian forces in Idlib province on Friday. Another 19 others were also injured, including six children and six women. The bombardment hit targets located far away from the battlefronts in the southern Idlib countryside, the civil defense said, adding that these attacks are deliberately targeting civilian areas.

The Friday congregational prayers were canceled in the majority of towns and villages in northern rural Hama and Idlib province for fear of the intense aerial activity by the Assad regime and Russian air forces.

The Syrian Coalition said that “Syrian civilians are paying the price of the inaction of the international community.” The Coalition stressed that “if they have the will, the active players in Syria can stop military attacks on civilian areas and enforce political solution in accordance with the international resolutions.”

The Coalition stressed the need to provide urgent humanitarian and medical assistance to those in need in Idlib and the people who fled towards the border areas, calling for maintaining the Idlib agreement and a return to the cease-fire.
