Hasan Qasim: Despite the difficult circumstances, students of Kurdistan of Syria prepare for the ministerial examinations in the region

ARK News: With the end of the academic year 2018-2019 and the closing of the date of ministerial examinations in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the students of Kurdistan of Syria who are residents in the Kurdistan Region are preparing to submit examinations, and an educational expert stresses the existence of difficulties for Syrian Kurdish students to complete their studies in the schools of the Kurdistan Region.

In an exclusive statement to the site of ARK News the educational expert, Hasan Qasim said that the number of Kurdish students enrolled in schools in the Kurdistan Region is (32.198), but because of the presence of several reasons, many of them left the school, and this affects negatively on their future.

The educational expert stressed that the reasons that led to the abandonment of students to their seats are different, such as the cost of transport, economic difficulties, child labor, language barriers, and lack of educational materials, including textbooks.

On the date of the start of the ministerial examinations of the two phases (the basic, and Baccalaureate), the educational expert said: “According to the decision of the Ministry of Education in the Kurdistan Regional Government the exams will begin on 26/5 for students of baccalaureate and 27/5 students in the ninth grade and alternately day by day, and some exams will postpone until after al-Fitr Eid.”
