Afrin .. Arabs settle and Kurds back to their homes in exchange for huge amounts of money

ARK News: With the increasing pace of clashes and shelling against areas in Idlib and Hama the displacement movement of civilians continues towards safer areas, in recent times, hundreds of Arab settlers families have fled and settled in the Kurdish region of Afrin, while the original displaced Kurds in the Aleppo countryside camps return to their area for a large sum of money.

Media sources and private sources from Afrin confirm that hundreds of Arab families settled in Afrin in a report which published by the Orient channel, in which the Arab displaced families to Afrin say that Afrin is a country of security and safety and we will not leave our place and we will stay there.

A decision was also issued by the competent authorities in Afrin to close the offices of the Arab displaced, which angered the Arab refugees and they organized a demonstration in the city center of Afrin, condemning to this kind of decision.

For his part, the activist Mustafa Sheikho said on his official page on 18 May 2019 that more than 100 people have returned - from the rural areas of Aleppo called Al-Shahba - to Afrin and other activists said that each of the returnees paid 1000 euros for permission to return to his home.

Since the takeover of Afrin region by the Turkish army and the armed factions and groups, the process of changing the region's demographics has continued by allowing the Arabs to settle in Afrin, while the PYD prevents native Kurds displaced from returning to their villages.
