In pictures .. Fires devour three places in Afrin region
ARK News: Villages in the towns of Rajo, Jenderes, and Mabata in the Kurdish region of Afrin were exposed, Yesterday, May 17, 2019, to unfair fires and local councils and civil defense and with the help of villagers helped to extinguish the fire, while the armed factions were accused of trading firewood.
The local council in Jenderes town said that the fire broke out in the village of Tatara, saying that as a result of the construction of some tents in the village of Tatara, north of Jenderes town, near the bushes, and initial information indicates that as a result of recklessness the fire broke out inside the woods.
The Council added that after the expansion of the fire, we were informed, and then we sent the Civil Defense team directly, where the team made great efforts, but as the fire spread to the rugged terrain, the team was unable to control. Then we were told by the Turkish side to send fire engines and use the bulldozers, but it was not controlled until late at night as efforts to control the fire continued until early in the morning.
On its part, the local council of Mabata said that a fire in Hawar mountain between the villages of Gobake-Hayate about a range12 hectares was extinguished by the Agricultural Office of the local council of the town.
There were also fires in the villages of Rajo town and according to the Civil Defense that the team controlled the forest fire in that area.
Activists and residents of neighboring villages these towns have accused the armed factions and groups of intentionally setting fire to firewood. Since the takeover of Afrin region by Turkey and the armed factions, on March 18, 2018, forest and agricultural trees have been exposing to burning and cutting off, where these factions sell burnt trees as firewood in the province of Idlib and Izaz region adjacent to Afrin.
