نظم مجلس محلية عفرين للمجلس الوطني الكوردي في سوريا ندوة حوارية في قرية ميدانا، وذلك في إطار تعزيز الحوار المجتمعي والتواصل مع أبناء المنطقة.
تناولت الندوة التي أدارها أحمد حسن رئيس مجلس محلية عفرين للمجلس الوطني الكوردي عدة محاور رئيسية أبرزها، الكورد في ظل التغيرات الراهنة والتحولات العميقة التي تشهدها المنطقة وسوريا، والتي تمهد لتشكيل شرق أوسط جديد.
كما وتم تسليط الضوء على مخرجات كونفرانس كونفراس وحدة الصف والموقف الكوردي وأثرها على القضية الكوردية.
وناقش الحضور، دور المجلس الوطني الكوردي في الدفاع عن قضايا الشعب والوطن والسعي على نهج الكوردايتي ( نهج البارزاني الخالد ) لتحقيق تطلعات الشعب الكوردي في الحرية والكرامة.
وختاما تم التأكيد على فتح صفحات جديدة من التسامح والتصالح بين أهالي المنطقة، وتعزيز قيم المحبة والاتحاد ووحدة الصف.

World Bank: First Project with Syrian Government Will Focus on Improving Electricity Services
ARK News.. The World Bank has announced that Saudi Arabia and Qatar have jointly cleared approximately $15.5 million in outstanding Syrian debt, paving the way for the Bank to resume its programs in the country after a 14-year hiatus.
In an official statement, the World Bank said: “Following years of conflict, Syria is now on a path toward recovery and development. Our first project with the new Syrian government will focus on improving electricity services.”
The statement added: “We are pleased that the clearance of Syria’s arrears enables the World Bank to re-engage in the country and respond to the development needs of the Syrian people.”
The Washington-based institution emphasized that its programs will contribute to “stabilizing the country and the broader region. There is an urgent need to create an environment that enables private sector investment, job creation, and economic growth to secure a better future for the Syrian people.”

Jordanian Airstrike Targets Suspected Drug Depot in Syria’s Suwayda Countryside
ARK News.. The Jordanian Air Force carried out an airstrike targeting an under-construction house suspected of being used as a drug warehouse in the village of al-Sha’ab, in eastern Suwayda countryside. The strike resulted in the complete destruction of the building, with no reported casualties.
According to sources, the targeted property belonged to Mohammad Eid al-Ramthan, a local tribesman suspected of links to cross-border drug trafficking networks. He is believed to be associated with remnants of armed groups that previously operated under Iranian sponsorship and in coordination with Hezbollah. These networks are reportedly affiliated with the late Mar’i al-Ramthan, who was killed in a similar Jordanian airstrike earlier.
The operation comes amid a marked escalation in Jordanian military actions against narcotics smuggling networks operating along the Syrian-Jordanian border.

U.S. Official: Trump Yet to Make Final Decision on Future of American Troops in Syria
ARK News.. A senior U.S. official has revealed that President Donald Trump has not yet made a final decision regarding the future of American military presence in Syria.
According to Al Jazeera, the official stated that U.S. forces continue to withdraw from various positions across Syria, with troop numbers expected to decline from approximately 2,000 to around 900 in the coming months.
“The U.S. military is proceeding with a phased withdrawal plan amid a comprehensive review of the American military deployment across the region,” the official said.
He added that “the final decision on the continued presence of U.S. forces remains under consideration, pending ongoing security and political developments.”

I wish you continued success and prosperity in your endeavors.
It is my hope that the unification of students and youth, along with the outcomes of your conference, will lead to a more effective approach to activism, stronger organizational cohesion, and a deeper commitment to serving the interests of Kurdistan’s students and youth.

البنك الدولي: أول مشروع لنا مع الحكومة السورية سيكون تحسين "خدمة الكهرباء"
أعلن البنك الدولي، أن السعودية وقطر سددتا ديوناً مستحقة على سوريا بنحو 15.5 مليون دولار ما يمهد الطريق لاستئناف برامجه فيها بعد توقف دام 14 عاماً.
قال البنك الدولي في بيان "بعد صراع دام سنوات، تسير سوريا على طريق التعافي والتنمية، وأن أول مشروع له مع الحكومة السورية الجديدة سيركز على تحسين خدمة الكهرباء".
وأضاف بيان البنك الدولي: "يسعدنا أن تصفية المتأخرات المستحقة على سوريا تسمح للبنك الدولي بالعودة للعمل فيها وتلبية الحاجات التنموية للشعب السوري".
مؤكدا أن برامج المؤسسة التي تتخذ من واشنطن مقراً ستسهم "في استقرار البلاد والمنطقة. هناك حاجة لخلق بيئة تسمح للقطاع الخاص بالاستثمار وخلق فرص عمل والنمو لتأمين مستقبل أفضل للشعب السوري".

مسؤول أمريكي: ترامب لم يتخذ القرار النهائي بشأن مستقبل القوات الأمريكية في سوريا
كشف مسؤول أمريكي أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب لم يتخذ بعد قرارا نهائيا بشأن مستقبل الوجود العسكري الأمريكي في سوريا.
وفق قناة "الجزيرة"، قال المسؤول الأمريكي إن القوات الأمريكية تواصل الانسحاب من مواقع بسوريا وستنخفض من نحو 2000 إلى 900 جندي في الأشهر المقبلة.
وأضاف أن "الجيش الأمريكي يواصل تنفيذ خطة انسحاب تدريجية، وسط مراجعة شاملة للانتشار العسكري في المنطقة".
مشيراً إلى أن "القرار النهائي بشأن بقاء القوات لا يزال قيد الدراسة في ضوء التطورات الأمنية والسياسية".

International Coalition Conducts Airdrop Operation in Rural Hasaka
ARK News.. A Syrian human rights source has reported that the U.S.-led International Coalition carried out an airdrop operation in the village of al-Bajdali, located in the southern countryside of al-Shaddadi in Hasaka province.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the raid—which took place at dawn on Thursday, May 16, 2025—resulted in the arrest of three individuals affiliated with the Islamic State (ISIS). The detainees were immediately transferred to the Coalition’s military base in al-Shaddadi.
This operation is part of a broader campaign of security operations conducted by the International Coalition across northern and eastern Syria, targeting individuals suspected of ISIS affiliation or involvement in activities that threaten regional stability.
Just two days earlier, on May 14, Coalition forces carried out a separate raid in the Hasakah countryside, arresting five suspected ISIS operatives. The detainees were taken to an undisclosed security facility under heavy guard.

Erbil: Nine Syrian Nationals Arrested for Violent Assault
ARK News.. The Erbil Police Directorate has announced the arrest of nine individuals of Syrian nationality in connection with a violent assault incident.
In an official statement, the directorate reported that "the nine suspects brutally attacked another individual over a long-standing personal dispute that dates back seven years. Although the matter had been previously resolved, the suspects reignited the conflict, launching a severe physical assault that left the victim with serious injuries before fleeing the scene."
The statement added that "police patrols quickly responded to the incident, and within a short period, managed to locate and arrest all nine suspects in accordance with a judicial warrant. A formal investigation has been launched, and the suspects have been referred to the competent court to face legal proceedings."
The Erbil Police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining security and stability in the city, vowing to pursue anyone who attempts to disrupt public order.
