The high death toll of Dnipro.. and London promises Kyiv combat tanks
ARK News… Officials on Sunday revealed that the death toll from a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro had risen to 18, while Britain said last night that it would soon send a squadron of its main battle tanks to support Ukraine's defenses.
The governor of the Dnepropetrovsk region in central-eastern Ukraine said early Sunday that 73 people had been injured and 40 had been taken to hospital.
The Supreme Military Command in Ukraine announced yesterday that Russia launched three air strikes, 57 missile strikes, and carried out 69 attacks with heavy weapons, yesterday, Saturday. Ukrainian forces shot down 26 missiles.
Infrastructure damage
Officials have warned that the strikes hit critical infrastructure in the capital, Kyiv, and elsewhere, straitening energy supplies in the capital and large parts of the country in the coming days.
As ground fighting continued in eastern Ukraine, Britain followed France and Poland in pledging more weapons to Ukraine, saying it would send 14 of its Challenger 2 main battle tanks as well as artillery support in the coming weeks.
It is noteworthy that more than 30 people were missing, after a Russian missile strike destroyed part of a residential building in the city of Dnipro, in the south of the country.
Rescue workers worked into the night searching for people under the rubble of the building that was bombed on Saturday.

Report: Britain revises support for Iran nuclear deal after Akbari's execution
ARK News… The United Kingdom is reconsidering its support for the Iran nuclear deal in 2015, after the execution of a British-Iranian citizen, according to the Sunday Telegraph.
The website Mizan reported that Iran executed the prominent former British-Iranian politician, Ali Reza Akbari, on espionage charges on Saturday. Britain condemned the incident and considered it a barbaric act.
The newspaper quoted high-level government officials, whose identities were not specified, as saying that conditions have changed since the start of the negotiation process to revive the agreement, and Britain is reviewing its options regarding participation, according to Bloomberg News, on Sunday.
Talks to revive the agreement have stalled since August last year; Relations between Iran and Western stakeholders — including the United States and the European Union — have been increasingly strained, due to the country's bloody crackdown on protesters, and Iran's sale of military drones to Russia.
Reviving the deal, which curbs Iran's nuclear program, could pave the way for the United States to lift sanctions and allow Iran's energy exports to return to global markets.

Russia warns: Kyiv will blow up grain silos in Kharkov
ARK News… Kyiv was accused of sending a group of explosives specialists to the city of Volchansk
The repercussions of recent developments in Ukraine's second-largest city and municipality are still ongoing.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has warned of Kyiv preparing to blow up grain silos in Kharkiv, eastern Ukraine, stressing Ukraine's intention to accuse Russia of causing famine in the country, and fueling hostile propaganda with Western media coverage.
Explosives and sabotage experts
Kyiv was accused of sending a group of explosives specialists to the city of Volchansk in Kharkiv Province to prepare for a sabotage operation there.
It also emphasized the mining of grain silos in the town of Karechny, Kharkiv Province, to detonate them, and pointing fingers at Russia for causing famine in Ukraine, to disrupt the Istanbul grain export deal.
It pointed out that Western media will present the incident as a new atrocity committed by Russian forces.
Significant grain agreement
It is noteworthy that the countries concerned decided last year to extend the grain export agreement, which aims to alleviate global food shortages by facilitating Ukraine's agricultural exports from its southern ports on the Black Sea, for 120 days.
The grain deal reached beginning in July, provides a protected sea lane to alleviate global food shortages by allowing exports to resume from three ports in Ukraine, a major producer of grains and oilseeds.
This came after the decrease in shipments from Ukraine in the wake of the Russian military operation in February played a role in the global food price crisis this year, but there were also other important factors, including the Covid-19 pandemic and ongoing climate shocks such as drought in both Argentina and the United States.
While Ukraine and Russia are major grain exporters in the world, Russia is the largest exporter of wheat in the world and a major exporter of fertilizers to global markets.

ARK News… Putin accused Minister Denis Manturov of bureaucratic delays in ordering civil and military aircraft
Putin publicly scolds a minister: Why are you playing the fool? Russian President Vladimir Putin lost his cool during the first session of the government in 2023, publicly directing a scathing rebuke to the Minister of Trade and Industry.
In a minute-long intervention, Putin accused Minister Denis Manturov of bureaucratic delays in ordering civilian and military aircraft.
"Why are you lingering?"
The Russian president said: "It takes a long time, a very long time. Why are you delaying... When will you sign the contracts... Why do you play the role of a fool?"
"The 700 aircraft, including helicopters, need to be resolved with the Defense Ministry," Putin complained. "Many companies have not received any orders yet."
Supervision of the arms industry
Manturov has been a loyal member of Putin's ministerial team since 2012 and has traveled regularly with the president on foreign and domestic visits. He was given the task of overseeing Russia's arms industry last summer when shortcomings were exposed on the battlefield.
Manturov explained that his ministry launched a program to produce helicopter engines in St. Petersburg, which were previously manufactured in Ukraine. But Putin attacked him, complaining that it was taking too long.
After publicly insulting him, the minister promised that his ministry would do its best with its economic partners.

The water crisis worsens the situation of the population in Qamishlo city
ARK News... In light of the continuing successive crises in the cities and towns of Syrian Kurdistan, the residents of the city of Qamishlo have been suffering for several weeks from the water crisis in the city.
The water reaches the city of Qamishlo from three water sources, the most prominent of which is the Al-Hilaliya station, which is near the village of Navkur, west of Qamishli, the Oweja station, near the industrial zone in the city, and the Jaqjaq station on the northern belt of the city.
The people in the neighborhoods of Al-Hilaliya, Suais, Al-Wusta and Al-Gharbi, Bludan, and its surroundings, Corniche, Tati, and Zanoud have been suffering from this crisis that has been going on for several weeks due to the wear and tear of parts of the Al-Hilaliya station, especially the pipes, and their rusting, especially the valves, which causes large amounts of water to be wasted and leaked.
In this regard, the Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations provided financial support to the PYD administration to carry out repair operations for the Al-Hilaliya water station, which has 51 wells and is divided into two halls, old and new.
Because of the crisis, residents are forced to buy water from tankers, which is not clean and reliable, and the water of water distribution networks and tanks suffer from high calcium content, which negatively affects the health of citizens.
The water crisis in the city is linked to the electricity crisis. When water is pumped into the network, the electricity is cut off, which deprives residents of access to water, and vice versa, when water is pumped for no more than an hour, which deprives residents who do not have electricity generators from obtaining water.
