"Bin Farhan" discusses with "Pederson" efforts to reach a political solution in Syria
ARK News… The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, reviewed, in two separate meetings, the chances of reaching a solution to the Syrian file with the UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen. He also reviewed the security and stability of Yemen, with the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Gruenberg.
This came on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum 2023, in the Swiss city of Davos, on Wednesday, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During his meeting with Geir Pedersen, "Bin Farhan" reviewed the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Nations to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis, and the two sides discussed "the most prominent developments on the regional and international arenas."
The meeting comes in the midst of the ongoing rapprochement between the UAE and Turkey with the Assad regime, under Russian auspices.
The United States had warned against attempts to revive the Assad regime, and the US State Department said in more than one statement that what is happening will not negate the reality of the massacres committed by Assad against the Syrians.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has, during the last period, reiterated the need for any political solution in Syria to include accountability for those involved in war crimes and work to achieve the aspirations of the Syrians.
During his meeting with Hans Gruenberg, bin Farhan reviewed "the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Nations aimed at the security and stability of Yemen and its brotherly people."

European Parliament calls for the punishment of Khamenei

The European Parliament on Wednesday asked the European Union to blacklist Iran's Revolutionary Guards as "terrorist organizations".
In a widely adopted text added to the annual report on the common foreign policy, the members of the European Parliament, during a plenary session, "call on the Union and its member states to include the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on the European Union's list of terrorist organizations."
The European Parliament also called for the inclusion of Iranian guide Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi on European sanctions lists. It also called for the inclusion of all Iranian parliamentarians on European sanctions lists.
Likewise, the European Parliament called for the inclusion of the Basij militia and the Quds Force in European terrorist lists.
It also called on the Human Rights Council to refer Iran's file to the Security Council. He called on Iran to immediately release the European nationals being held there.
In another context, the European Parliament strongly condemned the attacks of the Revolutionary Guards on the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
On Monday, some 12,000 people from all over Europe gathered in front of the European Parliament in Strasbourg to demand that the Revolutionary Guard be included in this blacklist, as the United States has done. They received the support of the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, who came to meet them.
For his part, European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders, on Tuesday, said during a debate in parliament, "I guarantee that all options that allow the European Union to respond to the events in Iran will remain on the table."
It is assumed that the European representatives, on Thursday, will reaffirm this demand in a vote on a report devoted only to the European response to the demonstrations and executions in Iran.
This comes while the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, on Tuesday, said that she supports the inclusion of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on the list of terrorist organizations to respond to the "violation" of basic human rights in Iran.
She told reporters on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort of Davos: "The reaction of the Iranian regime is terrible and appalling, and they are infringing on basic human rights."
She added, "We are already looking forward to a new round of sanctions, and I will also support the inclusion of the Revolutionary Guard (on the list of terrorist organizations). I have heard many ministers asking for this and I think they are right."

A Turkish drone targeting a car on the Tirbaspiye-Chil Agha road
ARK News... A Turkish drone, on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, targeted a car near the intersection of the village of Mashouq on the Tirbaspiye-Chil Agha road in the countryside of Qamishlo, in Syrian Kurdistan.
The victims have not been revealed yet, but the Turkish drones continue to target the leaders of the Syrian Democratic Forces and officials of the PKK. On January 11, 2023, a Turkish drone targeted a car carrying leaders on the international road linking the cities of Qamishlo and Hasakah in Syrian Kurdistan.
ARK source confirmed that two leaders, one of them a woman, were targeted by a Turkish drone, and the two leaders are from the Turkish Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist) banned in Turkey.
ARK was unable to obtain other information except that the two leaders were working within the PKK system that controls the management of the PYD in Syrian Kurdistan.
Recently, cities and towns under the control of the PYD administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have witnessed repeated attacks by Turkish drones, most of whose victims are leaders and officials of the PKK.

Nizar Musa to ARK: The wrong policy of the PYD administration pushes the remaining Kurds to emigrate
ARK News... Kurdish politician Nizar Musa, a member of the political committee of the Kurdistan Yakiti Party - Syria, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, said that the warmongers in the PYD administration control imports, and civilians are deprived of everything, and they are forced to emigrate, and there is a class close to the administration that is beneficiary.
He explained during his participation in the ARK Newsletter that the wrong policy followed 12 years ago by the four authorities controlling the land in Syria caused immediate results, especially in the areas under the control of the PYD administration, which is known as the food basket of Syria and the richest region in terms of petroleum production.
He pointed out that the citizens are dissatisfied with the dire situation, and because of the instability, many are forced to emigrate. Stressing that there is a class close to the administration that benefits those who remain live in a miserable situation and are deprived of revenues.
He explained that the results are disastrous and will be catastrophic if the situation continues like this, so this administration must review and evaluate its policy, as well as the citizens and the Kurdish movement must play their roles in order to create some kind of pressure on the PYD administration and find appropriate solutions to reduce immigration and secure the elements ways of living.

Masrour Barzani meets the Bahraini Minister of Industry and Trade
ARK News... The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, met, on the sidelines of his participation in the Davos Economic Forum, with the Bahraini Minister of Industry and Trade, Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro.
During the meeting, Masrour Barzani discussed ways to strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Kingdom of Bahrain, especially in the fields of investment, industry, agriculture, and trade exchange.
For his part, the Bahraini minister conveyed to the Prime Minister the greetings of the Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Fakhro renewed his country's desire to strengthen relations with Kurdistan, stressing at the same time that he would visit the region as the head of a large trade delegation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, which took place on Wednesday, the Prime Minister of Kurdistan expressed the region's readiness to upgrade relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields.

ويأتي اللقاء في خضم التقارب المستمر بين كل من الإمارات العربية وتركيا مع نظام الأسد، برعاية روسية.
وكانت الولايات المتحدة قد حذرت من محاولات إحياء نظام الأسد، وقالت الخارجية الأمريكية في أكثر من بيان إن ما يحدث لن ينفي حقيقة المجازر التي ارتكبها الأسد بحق السوريين.
وسبق أن كررت المملكة العربية السعودية، خلال الفترة الماضية، تأكيدها ضرورة أن يشمل أي حل سياسي في سوريا محاسبة المتورطين في جرائم الحرب، والعمل على تحقيق تطلعات السوريين.

مقتل ضابط وإصابة عناصر للنظام باستهداف دورية لـ "المهام الخاصة" بدرعا
أعلنت وزارة الداخلية في حكومة نظام الأسد عبر صفحتها الرسمية على فيسبوك عن مصرع ضابط برتبة "رائد شرف"، كما تحدثت عن إصابة عنصرين من الشرطة بانفجار عبوة ناسفة زرعها مجهولون في محافظة درعا جنوبي البلاد.
وقال نشطاء أن التفجير استهدف دورية عسكرية أدت لمقتل ضابط وجرح عناصر آخرين، بالإضافة لسقوط سبعة جرحى في صفوف المدنيين بينهم نساء كانوا بالقرب من التفجير.
وقالت الوزارة اليوم الأربعاء إن القتيل هو "فارس خليل"، من مرتب وحدة المهام الخاصة في دمشق، في حين أصيب كلاً من الشرطي "محمد ذياب"، ونظيره "فادي حمادي"، من مرتبات وحدة المهام الخاصة في درعا، و3 مدنيين، حسب بيان داخلية الأسد.
وأشارت إلى أن انفجار العبوة الناسفة وقع في ساحة بصرى بمدينة درعا، تزامنا مع مرور دورية من مرتبات وحدة "المهام الخاصة" التابعة لنظام، وتتكرر مثل هذه الحوادث وسجلت محافظة درعا مقتل وجرح عدد من العسكريين لدى نظام إثر استهدافات مماثلة.
وفي وقت سابق قتل كلا من "علي عكاري - أحمد الحسن - أحمد علي" جراء هجوم طال حاجز للنظام شرق بلدة النعيمة في ريف درعا فيما قتل الملازم "حمود الحسن" والعنصر "أيمن وهبي" إثر استهداف سيارة عسكرية بعبوة ناسفة، بريف درعا جنوبي البلاد.
وكان مجهولون قد أطلقوا النار في السادس عشر من الشهر الماضي على عقيد في جيش الأسد ومرافقه بالقرب من دوار بلدة الشيخ سعد بريف درعا الغربي، ما أدى لمقتلهما، كما سقط قتيلين على الأقل وعدد من الجرحى في صفوف قوات الأسد جراء انفجار عبوة ناسفة بآلية عسكرية تقلهم قرب مدينة إنخل شمالي مدينة درعا.

Jum’a for ARK: American efforts to lure Turkey with the F16 in return for reversing normalization
ARK News... The Kurdish politician, Mustafa Jum’a, a member of the political bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, on Tuesday, January 16, 2023, said that Russia is in control of the Syrian regime and presides over the processes of restoring state relations and normalization with the regime, and to limit Turkish normalization, America wants to lure Turkey with F16 in exchange for retreating from normalization with the Syrian regime.
He added, during his participation in the ARK newsletter, that the affected Syrians are opposed to any form of Turkish normalization with the regime, and Turkey is seeking to end the PYD administration's existence on its own and return the Syrian refugees.
He indicated that America opposes the normalization of relations with the regime, and seeks to grant F-16 missiles to Turkey in return for withdrawing from normalization.
He continued by saying that the Syrian refugees and displaced people reject any form of normalization, so we have seen anti-demonstrations spread in the cities and towns under the control of Turkey and the opposition in northern Syria, and Turkey must retreat from its policy because normalization with the regime will lead to disasters for the Syrians affected by the oppression machine of the Syrian regime.
At the end of his speech, he said that the Syrian solution lies in accordance with United Nations Resolution 2254, and anything less than that is prolonging the Syrian crisis.

البرلمان الأوروبي يدعو لمعاقبة خامنئي
البرلمان الأوروبي طالب أيضاً بمعاقبة إبراهيم رئيسي وإدراج ميليشيا الباسيج وفيلق القدس في قوائم الإرهاب الأوروبية
طلب البرلمان الأوروبي من الاتحاد الأوروبي، اليوم الأربعاء، إدراج الحرس الثوري الإيراني على القائمة السوداء "للمنظمات الإرهابية".
وجاء في نص تم تبنيه على نطاق واسع يضاف إلى التقرير السنوي حول السياسة الخارجية المشتركة أن أعضاء البرلمان الأوروبي خلال جلسة عامة "يدعون الاتحاد والدول الأعضاء فيه إلى إدراج الحرس الثوري الإيراني على قائمة الاتحاد الأوروبي للمنظمات الإرهابية".
كما طالب البرلمان الأوروبي بإدراج المرشد الإيراني علي خامنئي والرئيس الإيراني إبراهيم رئيسي على قوائم العقوبات الأوروبية. ودعا أيضاً لإدراج جميع نواب البرلمان الإيراني على قوائم العقوبات الأوروبية.
كذلك، دعا البرلمان الأوروبي إلى إدراج ميليشيا الباسيج وفيلق القدس في قوائم الإرهاب الأوروبية.
كما دعا مجلس حقوق الإنسان إلى إحالة ملف إيران أمام مجلس الأمن. وطالب إيران بالإفراج فوراً عن الرعايا الأوروبيين المحتجزين لديها.
في سياق آخر، دان البرلمان الأوروبي بشدة اعتداءات الحرس الثوري على إقليم كردستان العراق.
والاثنين، تجمّع حوالي 12 ألف شخص من كل أنحاء أوروبا أمام البرلمان الأوروبي في ستراسبورغ للمطالبة بإدراج الحرس الثوري على هذه القائمة السوداء، كما فعلت الولايات المتحدة. وقد تلقوا دعم رئيسة البرلمان الأوروبي روبرتا ميتسولا التي جاءت للقائهم.
من جهته، قال المفوض الأوروبي للعدالة ديدييه رايندرز، الثلاثاء، خلال مناقشة في البرلمان "أنا أضمن أن كل الخيارات التي تسمح للاتحاد الأوروبي بالرد على الأحداث في إيران ستبقى مطروحة على الطاولة".
ويفترض أن يعيد النواب الأوروبيون، الخميس، تأكيد هذا المطلب في تصويت على تقرير مكرّس فقط للرد الأوروبي على التظاهرات وعمليات الإعدام في إيران.
يأتي هذا بينما قالت رئيسة المفوضية الأوروبية أورسولا فون دير لاين، أمس الثلاثاء، إنها تؤيد إدراج الحرس الثوري الإيراني على قائمة المنظمات الإرهابية للرد على "انتهاك" حقوق الإنسان الأساسية في إيران.
وأضافت للصحافيين على هامش المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي في منتجع دافوس السويسري: "رد فعل النظام الإيراني فظيع ومروع وهم يتعدون على حقوق الإنسان الأساسية".
وأردفت: "نتطلع بالفعل إلى جولة جديدة من العقوبات، وسأؤيد أيضاً إدراج الحرس الثوري (على قائمة المنظمات الإرهابية). لقد سمعت العديد من الوزراء يطلبون ذلك وأعتقد أنهم على حق".
