Turkey is preparing for a military operation in eastern Euphrates

ARK News: Turkish Defense Minister Khalosi Akar on Friday held an inspection visit to the military units deployed on the border with Syria, according to the Anatolia Agency.

Akar, accompanied by Chief of Staff Yasar Guler and Ground Forces Commander Omit Dundar, arrived at Hatay airport and headed to the border units.

Akar, the commanders of the staff and the ground forces, conducted inspection visits to the border units, and then met with Wali, Dundar Dugan.

For its part, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet revealed Turkish preparations for a military operation in the east of the Euphrates, and Akar visiting comes to the border areas within the preparations for the military operation.

The Turkish minister's visit came days after the Turkish army sent huge reinforcements to the Syrian territory after the region witnessed an escalation initiated by the "Kurdish units" militants and resulted in the death of a Turkish officer and the wounding of other soldiers.

A video showed the entry of a convoy of Turkish armored personnel carriers, troop carriers, and military equipment to the city of Izaz, bordering with the Syrian-Turkish border, on its way to the contact points.
