Nasr Hariri: We discussed the formation of the safe area and the need to free it from the PKK

ARK News: The head of the Syrian Negotiating Commission announced the imminent formation of the Syrian Constitutional Committee under the supervision of the United Nations.

In a press conference on Sunday, the head of the Syrian negotiating body, Nasr Hariri, spoke about their recent tour in several countries and with several personalities and officials, including the UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pederson.

Hariri revealed that they discussed in their tour the situation in Idlib, Al-Rikban camp, the formation of the security zone in northeastern Syria (Kurdistan Syria)which be free of PKK, the humanitarian situation in Syria, the political process in Geneva, the issue of detainees and Refugees, in addition to the situation in Afrin and developments in the Syrian arena.

Hariri added that they have reached the agreement on the majority of the figures of the constitutional committee, although there is still disagreement over some others and that the dispute will be resolved soon.

On the formation of the constitutional committee, Hariri said that they are on the doors of the formation of the constitutional committee under direct UN supervision, and revealed that the discussions on the Constitutional Committee focused on three basic issues, namely the care and commissioning and the third procedural rules.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov told reporters after a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that Tartous’s port in Syria will be leased to Russia for 49 years for transport and economic use during next week.
