Iraq proposes a trial the foreign Da’esh in exchange for two billion dollars

ARK News: Iraq has proposed to the US-led coalition countries to prosecute the fighters of Da’esh organization, for a fee of up to two billion dollars, according to Iraqi officials.

An Iraqi government official told AFP that he asked not to be identified, Baghdad has proposed an "option" of "prosecuting foreign militants currently held by the PYD militants in Syria" as "for $ 2 billion."

A second official told the agency that "costs" were calculated by the Iraqi authorities to arrest and prosecute foreigners fighters of Da’esh organization on its territory which are estimated at about a thousand elements, according to what was applied at Guantanamo.

He added that the countries of origin of these suspected militants are "facing a problem, and we have the solution," confirming that "we made this proposal last week, we have not received any response so far."

A third official told AFP that the militants came from "52 countries", so it was easy to address the international coalition instead of all the capitals of those countries.
