The announcement of Nawroz Day is an official holiday in Afrin region

ARK News: The Local Council in Jenderes town of Afrin in Kurdistan of Syria announced on 21 of the day of Nawroz National Day of the Kurdish people as an official holiday.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the Council called on Jenderes' Council to light candles on Nawroz night and announced Nawroz as a public holiday.
In its statement, the Local Council called on citizens to go out to nature on the day of Nawroz and to settle for limited local celebrations and to move away from large central gatherings in order to preserve the security and safety of citizens due to exceptional security conditions.
