On the occasion of the Kurdish Martyr Day

ARK News: On the 12th of March our Kurdish people in Syria revive the day of the Kurdish martyr in commemoration of the fifteenth anniversary of the March glorious uprising, which claimed the lives of dozens of martyrs and large numbers of wounded and detained by the Baath regime, in addition to the theft and burning of shops in the Kurdish cities and villages by the elements of the regime and in front of the eyes and the protection of the security and repression organs, and all this did not discourage the resolve of our Kurdish people, the uprising spread to all the cities of Kurdistan of Syria, until it reached the Kurdish neighborhoods in the major Syrian cities, and it was an expression of the longing of our people to gain freedom, and their rejection of all the racist policies and Chauvinism practices, which followed against the right of our people, which was aimed at the Kurdish national presence.
This uprising broke the barrier of fear and intimidation and it was the real beginning of the Syrian revolution, which broke out in 2011 and gave impetus to the struggles of the Kurdish people on all levels, Kurdistan, regional and international.

The revival of the day of the Kurdish martyr comes this year under complicated conditions that Syria is going through in general and a pivotal stage for Kurdistan Syria after the decline of military operations and the declaration of the end of the terrorist organization of Da’esh, and that the Kurdish National Council since the beginning of the Syrian revolution stuck to the political struggle peaceful solution as a strategic option to end tyranny and repression and the empowerment of our Kurdish people to extract their legitimate national rights along with the rights of all components of the Syrian people and through the umbrella of the United Nations and international forums the Syrian national opposition participated peacefully to end the militarization of Syrian society and exerted diplomatic efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis to end the stage of killing, destruction and displacement against our people, and end the work of the comprehensive central system, and build a democratic Syria and a pluralistic parliamentary federal for all Syrians.

The stage that the Kurdistan region is going through, and in light of the threats and dangers ahead which demands that we have to close ranks and uphold the principles of our cause on the basis of the national and Kurdish national project. The painful Kurdish experience of Afrin was the result of international trade-offs and the policies pursued by the PYD Party through manipulating the fate and future of our people, hence, we call on the international community and countries with regard the Syrian file to remove the mercenary factions and groups in Afrin, which loot, kill and destroy communal life and in front of the Turkish state, and hand over the area to its management by its indigenous people and local police to protect its people pending a comprehensive political solution to the Syrian situation
The Kurdish National Council in Syria, while commemorating the day of the Kurdish martyr, Confirms that their blood will not go away in vain and will continue its peaceful struggle with all forces loving peace and freedom so as to realize the aspirations of our Kurdish people in freedom and dignity along with all components of the Syrian people, and we call on the masses of our Kurdish people to participate actively in the revival of this historic day in honor of the martyrs through the following:

- Lighting the candles on the night of March 12 in the balconies and in front of the houses

- Standing five minutes on Tuesday to mourn the lives of the martyrs at eleven o'clock and after.

- Visiting martyrs' graves on March 12 and put garlands of flowers on them.

Glory and eternity to the martyrs of the uprising of our Kurdish people

The shame and disgrace of murderers and criminals.
