A statement by the Kurdish National Council regarding the abduction of Junaid Majid by the PYD

ARK News: An armed group of the PYD Asayish on Tuesday evening 5/3/2019 has proceeded the abduction of Mr. Junaid Sayyid Majid, a member of the Area Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria in front of his house in Girke Lake town, taken him to an unknown destination, where this group brutally beat him and causing physical harm, and after the threat and humiliation placed him at night near the borders of the Kurdistan Region in a bad condition.

The continuation of the PYD gunmen with their malicious practices and far from all human values against the comrades of the Kurdish National Council and its supporters with the aim of intimidating and terrorizing people in this month and activities of their reviving which will not help them anything and will bring them only more discontent and disgust by the side of our people.

The Kurdish National Council strongly condemns this disgraceful act and demands the PYD to stop these actions the Council also calls upon humanitarian and human rights organizations and those who deal with them to pressure on them and to discourage them from their practices which are contrary to the most basic values and human rights.
