The Third Legion hands over its duties to the local police forces in the countryside of Afrin region
ARKNews: The "Third Legion" belonging to the "Armed Factions" handed over its military duties to the local police forces in the town of Mabata in the countryside of Afrin.
In a record video released by the Third Legion, on Tuesday (July 3rd), said that the handover of the tasks came after the opening of a center for the National Police in Mabata town with the presence of the residents living there.
The ceremony was attended by heads of local councils, military commanders of the armed groups and police commanders.
The town of Al-Mabata has about 30 villages, which were controlled by Turkish forces and military factions in the second month of Operation "olive branch" launched by the Turkish army.
In an earlier interview with the general commander of the police, Major General Abdul Razzaq Aslan Al-Lazz, said that the Spreading of the police is concentrated in Afrin city to be distributed in the countryside in the coming days.
After occupying the Afrin region, local councils, including the Provisional Council of the city, were formed in mid-April, after which the councils of Bilbul, Janders and Sharan formed the council of Sheikh Hadid and Rajo City on 29 of the same month.
The Turkish media indicated that the Turkish authorities are seeking to train a thousand Syrians to serve as police elements in Afrin.
The elements received the training, which included both the intervention against the riots, the police law and general discipline, in addition to training in operations in residential places and the destruction of improvised explosive devices and forensic examination.
The National Police is responsible for restoring security to Afrin after the theft, security chaos, arrest and abduction in the region by all armed groups and before the eyes of the Turkish army after the occupation, According to the sources.
