A leader in Roj Peshmerga: We are ready to deployment east Euphrates

ARK News: A leader in “Roj Peshmerga” showed the ready to deployment east of Syria, but he pointed out the lack of a clear plan to establish a "security zone" in northeastern Syria.

A leader of Roj Peshmerga, Lt. Col. Dilovan Robari, told Asharq Al-Awsat: “Yes the Syrian opposition delegation discussed with President Barzani and leaders of the Kurdish National Council the possibility of our participation in the security zone in cooperation with the Arab elite forces, it was a general debate due to the absence of a clear plan, and the absence of landmarks of this area to be established along the borders of our Kurdish areas with Turkey, and I note that we are a military force of the people of Syria, we look forward to having a role in the protection of our areas, the fact that our hands were not stained with blood, and did not participate in the battles within the Syrian territory

Robari added that there are no contacts between us and the leadership of Democratic Syria Forces because the leadership of the ‘Syrian Democratic Forces’ requires the work under its umbrella, "we have refused to do so. We believe in working under the umbrella of a joint administration elected by our people and involving all the components of the region, not one political party imposing itself on the region with the force of arms."

Robari explained that "the name of our forces is officially: “ Lashakri Roj” which means in Arabic “Army of the Sun”, the strength of this force reaches a military squad of more than six thousand fighters and this force formed in the Kurdistan Region in March 2012 of the rebels of the Kurds of the Regular Syrian army fled to it, and youth refused to join the compulsory service and volunteers from the Kurdish areas that are here, and under the guidance of President Barzani, who commissioned the command of “Zervani” forces to train these forces, and the force was formed to serve Kurdish interests in the event of a security and administrative vacuum in Kurdish areas, where the graduation of a number of military courses under the supervision of officials and experts from the Kurdistan Region Military Academy, and officers of the old Peshmerga, and were subjected to training regular armies and master the use and carry light and medium weapons, and trained in all forms of battles”.

Robari said "we did not participate in the battles inside Syria, but when the elements of the terrorist organization of ISIS attacked the Kurdistan region in the middle of 2014. The participation of the forces “Roj Peshmerga” participated in the ongoing battles in Kurdistan Iraq along with the forces of Peshmerga Kurdistan region, and fought fierce battles in defence of the land and human from Sinjar to Nuweran and many of our fighters fell, and achieved victories and dominated heroic epics witnessed by the leaders of the region and the international coalition forces”.

Robari explained that the political umbrella of the forces is “the Kurdish National Council and speaks officially on our behalf. I believe that the deployment of our forces inside Syria, especially in the security zone, will contribute to the stability of the region and to remove the fire of war from our regions, we also pledge to maintain good-neighborly relations with regional countries, because we believe in political pluralism and the peaceful coexistence of all components.”
