Background on the Forum
Prepare a profile on women's needs and perspectives in Syria at the local level (including in neighbouring countries) as well as at the national level. In order to achieve this, local platforms and the National Committee will participate in the holding, facilitating 25 forum discussions to consult with local communities on the subject. The dialogue forums will be accompanied by a questionnaire targeting 5,000 people, which will specifically seek to highlight perspectives on women's rights and participation.
Dialogue forums and questionnaires are the first step in a process that ultimately aims at involving local communities in designing action plans to ensure the participation, protection and safeguarding of women's rights in the future, Through a greater understanding of how perceived by the Syrian society to the leadership role and rights of women.
A comprehensive national profile will be prepared based on all these activities, through consensus and discussion in different communities and members of the National Committee. The information gathered will also focus on linking the needs and perspectives of women and Syrian communities at each of the local platform sites to issues related to the political process
