Three Yezidis Rescued from IS in Syria
ARK News: Kurdistan Region's Special Office for Yezidi Abductees Affairs announced on Wednesday the liberation of three more Yezidis from Islamic State (IS) captivity in Syria.
Hussein Qaidi, head of the office, told BasNews that the three civilians included two women, who are aged 30 and 40, with a 12-year-old child who had been abducted by the jihadists in Sinjar region since 2014.
Qaidi pointed out that they had been able to rescue the trio in coordination with their teams in Syria, adding that they have so far freed a total of 3352 out of 6417 abducted Yezidis.
He further noted that the three civilians will soon reunite with their families, and the teams will continue to liberate the rest of the kidnapped civilians.
