ARK News: Nasr Hariri, head of the negotiating body of the Syrian opposition said that Syria now has a good chance of reaching a political solution to the devastating war that has been going on for eight years after a cease-fire has brought calm to most of Syria’s areas.

Hariri said in an interview with Reuters at his headquarters in the Saudi capital Riyadh "I think we now have a chance because we now have almost all of Syria in a cease-fire in the north-east and north of Syria, and counterterrorism efforts have achieved good results."

Hariri heads the opposition delegation to the UN-sponsored peace talks and on Friday and he met with Gere Pedersen, who was recently appointed a special envoy of the United Nations on Syria.

"Now is the time to invest all these developments that are a ceasefire, the fight against terrorism and the belief of the majority of the Syrian people that the only solution to the Syrian crisis is the political solution," Hariri said.
