Duhok: Fourth Greater Kurdistan Literary Festival Gets Underway
ARK News.. The fourth edition of the Greater Kurdistan Literary Festival began on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Duhok branch of the Kurdish Writers’ Union, with the participation of a large number of writers, poets, artists, and cultural activists from different parts of Kurdistan.
Festival President Rizgar Jawshin said the festival aims to revitalize the cultural and literary scene and provide a platform bringing together creators to share their experiences and works.
Jawshin noted that the program includes various poetry readings, ranging from classical metered poetry to local poetry and free verse, in addition to a range of musical and artistic performances.
The festival president stressed that literature represents a fundamental pillar of society’s cultural identity, expressing hope that the literary gathering would contribute to supporting Kurdish literature and culture and promoting the exchange of experiences among creative figures.
