Oct 03 2026

ARK News.. The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council in Syria (KNC) issued a statement condemning what it described as systematic attacks targeting infrastructure and the energy sector, stressing that attacks on vital facilities and their workers threaten civilians’ lives, increase living and service burdens, and hinder recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Below is the full statement:

Various parts of the country have witnessed, in recent days, a series of terrorist attacks and acts of sabotage targeting vital facilities and key sectors, particularly the energy sector and its workers, resulting in deaths and injuries, at a time when the country is facing major challenges on the path toward stability and recovery.

The attacks included the bombing of a gas pipeline in the al-Shoula area of the Deir Ez-Zour countryside on September 28; an attack on a bus carrying electricity company workers near the Masyaf Bridge on September 30, which killed seven workers and injured four others; the targeting of the gas pipeline supplying the Tishreen Power Plant in the Damascus countryside; and a landmine explosion near Tiyas Military Airbase on October 1.

The Kurdish National Council in Syria condemns these criminal acts, stressing that targeting vital facilities and their workers threatens civilians’ lives, increases living and service burdens, and obstructs recovery and reconstruction efforts.

The Council calls for transparent investigations to identify those responsible for these attacks and hold them accountable, as well as for the necessary measures to strengthen the protection of vital facilities, the energy sector and its workers, as these are national facilities serving all Syrians.

The Council extends its sincere condolences to the families of those killed and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.
