ARK News.. Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said the Kurdistan Region is continuing its strategy of attracting major international companies and developing the private sector, describing Toyota’s new projects in Erbil as an important contribution to strengthening the economy and creating new employment opportunities for young people in the Kurdistan Region.

Speaking during a groundbreaking ceremony for Toyota’s projects in Erbil, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said, “We attach the utmost importance to supporting the private sector, which is the main driver of development in the Kurdistan Region. We are not seeking only to invest in infrastructure; we also aspire to bring global expertise and technology to our young people so they can become part of the production and industrial development process.”

Barzani praised the role of Japanese companies, saying cooperation with Toyota reflected confidence in the Region’s stable business environment.

He also described the end of the international coalition’s mission in Iraq today as a “pivotal milestone,” stressing that “these forces originally came to support the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government in defeating ISIS.”

Barzani thanked the United States and coalition countries for “their support in defeating ISIS, developing the capabilities of the Peshmerga, and protecting the security of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.”

Ending the coalition mission did not mean severing ties with friendly countries but entering into a new phase of security, political and economic cooperation adapted to the developments of the present, he said.

Masrour Barzani reassured the public, saying, “Our national forces, including the Iraqi Army and the Peshmerga, are fully capable and prepared to confront any threats that may face Kurdistan or Iraq in the future.”

The Kurdistan Region prime minister called for cooperation between Erbil and Baghdad to address these challenges. He reaffirmed the Regional Government’s commitment to supporting the federal government while expressing hope that Baghdad would implement the provisions of the constitution, achieve “financial justice,” and ensure the fair distribution of financial entitlements.

Barzani also called on all political parties to demonstrate a sense of national responsibility, work quickly to reactivate Parliament, and accelerate the formation of the government, which he said had been delayed for too long.

“The people are waiting for the parties to take practical steps to enact legislation and provide services, rather than simply relying on slogans,” he said.

Barzani concluded by highlighting the Kurdistan Region’s strategic geopolitical position, saying, “We are at the heart of a promising regional market connecting Turkey, Iran, and the Arab countries. We have played an important role in bringing these peoples closer economically, and we will continue this role to strengthen stability and prosperity in the region.”
