ARK News: US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that his country would destroy Turkey's economy if it launched an attack on the Kurds in Syria, referring to his country's intention to establish a safe area is approximately twenty miles in Syrian territory.

The US president did not say who would establish or pay for the safe area in Syria, nor pay their costs, and he did not specify the place where it will be held.

The US national security adviser, John Bolton stressed last week that protecting Kurdish militants in Syria would be a precondition for America to withdraw its troops from Syria, which prompted Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to describe Bolton's speech as "a grave mistake”.

Trump warned in a subsequent tweet on Twitter Syrian Kurds of provoking Turkey.

The divide between Washington and Ankara over the PYD militants, the backbone of Syria Democratic Forces, at a time, Ankara classifies it a terrorist organization Washington defends and describes as an ally in the fight against Da’esh organization, and Turkey has repeatedly threatened in the past few weeks to launch an attack to expel the militants of the PYD from Kurdistan of Syria.

The US president said that Washington would attack from a nearby base after withdrawing US troops from Syria in the event that the organization reorganized its forces.

The US president noted that "the long-delayed withdrawal from Syria began while hitting the rest of the Da’esh strongly and from many directions."

Trump added that the biggest beneficiaries of Washington's war against Da’esh are Syria, Iran and Russia.

Trump's sudden announcement days before the withdrawal of his troops from Syria led to a state of uncertainty about the implications of this withdrawal which has not actually been implemented, and series of contacts followed on how to fill in the vacuum that would leave the withdrawal of US troops from areas in northern and eastern Syria.
