Pedersen will visit Damascus within days
ARK News: The Syrian Foreign Ministry announced that the new UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, will visit Damascus on his first visit since he took office, to replace former envoy Staffan de Mistura.
Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Aiman Susan said during a press conference on Sunday that Pederson will visit Damascus and the Syrian regime is ready to cooperate with him.

Susan added, "at first we welcomed Mr. Pederson and expressed our readiness to cooperate with him to complete his mission, and this will be his first visit to Damascus, although we are aware of it.”
The visit will be the first of the UN envoy to Syria, days after taking office officially, without the Syrian regime specifies the date of the visit and its agenda.
