Text of the Congratulatory Statement

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Comrades in the Students and Youth Union of Democratic Kurdistan—West, Kurdistan revolutionary greetings. On the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the establishment of the Students and Youth Union of Democratic Kurdistan—West, I extend, on my own behalf and on behalf of the leadership and cadres of the Kurdistan Democratic Party-Syria, my warmest congratulations and sincere appreciation and pride for your efforts and activities in serving our people, our cause, our party, and the Kurdish national path.

The establishment of your union was rooted in our party’s belief that young people and students are the energy of society and the force of the future, and that building the Kurdish individual and strengthening their awareness, culture, and capabilities constitute the foundation for the future of our national cause.

Over the course of 13 years, and despite the difficult circumstances and profound changes Syria has witnessed, the union has maintained its presence and continued its organizational, cultural, social, and national role. It has contributed to bringing together the energies of young people and preparing cadres capable of shouldering responsibility.

We in the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria take pride in the union as an important youth affiliate of the party and a school for preparing a conscious and qualified generation that remains committed to its identity and the rights of its people and believes in democracy, national partnership, and respect for the rights of all components of the Syrian people.

Young people,

We are facing a historic and pivotal stage in Syria, in which the features of the state’s future and political system are taking shape. At this stage, Kurdish youth must not merely be observers of events. They must be active partners in shaping the future, present in political and social life, and capable of expressing the aspirations of their people and defending their legitimate rights.

We therefore look forward to a greater role for the union in developing the capabilities of young people and students, strengthening political and national awareness, encouraging education and specialization, supporting youth initiatives and talents, and building bridges of communication with young people from the various components of Syrian society in a way that strengthens the values of democracy, peace, coexistence, and partnership.

We also call on you to expand your presence in the public sphere, make use of technology and modern communication platforms, and develop a contemporary youth discourse that addresses Syrian society and international public opinion while highlighting the justness of the Kurdish cause, the rights of our people, and their aspirations. The coming stage requires all of us to work harder, demonstrate greater seriousness, and maintain unity.

Our cause needs a young generation equipped with knowledge and education, open to dialogue, and capable of defending the rights of its people through political, peaceful, and democratic means. We want our young people to carry forward the banner of the enduring Barzani path, remaining committed to principles and fundamentals while combining pride in their identity with openness to others and steadfastness in their positions with the demands of contemporary political work.

On this occasion, we reaffirm the support of the party leadership for the Students and Youth Union of Kurdistan Democratic-West and our commitment to developing its role and creating opportunities for young people and talented individuals to assume their rightful place within the party, the political movement, and society.

We also extend our greetings and appreciation to everyone who contributed to establishing and building the union and to all the comrades who continued their work within its ranks throughout its various stages and under different circumstances.

Young people,

The future lies before you, the responsibility is great, and our confidence in you is even greater. The future of our cause cannot be built without conscious young people, and the rights of our people cannot be safeguarded without a generation capable of shouldering responsibility.

Long live the unity of our youth and students.

Long live the Student and Youth Union of Democratic Kurdistan-West

Long live the Kurdistan Democratic Party—Syria.

Glory and eternity to the martyrs of our people and our national movement.

Mohammed Ismail
