Canada Condemns Iranian Drone Attack on Kurdistan Region Prime Minister’s Office

The Canadian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Iranian drone attack that targeted the office of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, describing the incident as an act of violence that undermines security and stability in Iraq and the wider region.
According to Kurdistan24, the Canadian Foreign Ministry said the attacks, which took place on August 17, posed a direct threat to the lives of civilians and contributed to undermining security and stability in Iraq and the region as a whole.
Canada also expressed its support for Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s decision to launch a comprehensive investigation to determine the source of the drones and identify those responsible for the attack.
The Canadian statement comes after drones targeted the office of the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister and the residence of the head of the Parastin intelligence agency in Pirmam early Monday, August 17. Kurdistan Region authorities said the attack was launched from within Iranian territory.
