Qatar Condemns Iranian Attack on Kurdistan Region Prime Minister’s Office
ARK News.. The State of Qatar condemned and denounced the targeting of the office of the prime minister of the Kurdistan Region and the residence of the head of the "Parastin" intelligence agency in Erbil, describing the attacks as a “blatant violation” of the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and a flagrant breach of international law.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to prevent such unjustified attacks from further destabilizing the region.
The ministry called on all parties to exercise restraint, uphold dialogue and diplomacy, and work to de-escalate tensions in order to strengthen security and stability at both the regional and international levels.
The ministry concluded by reaffirming Qatar’s full solidarity with the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, stressing Doha’s support for all measures taken by the Iraqi authorities to safeguard the country’s security and sovereignty.
