Ali Hussein: There Is “Good Convergence” Between the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan
ARK News.. A Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official said there is “good convergence” with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) over reactivating the Kurdistan Parliament and forming the Kurdistan Regional Government, nearly one year and ten months after parliamentary elections were held without the formation of a new government.
KDP official Ali Hussein said in a press statement that a meeting between the two sides is expected to take place in the coming days, expressing hope that it would produce positive results. He noted that several meetings had been held in recent months as part of efforts to resolve the political disputes.
The KDP official added that “it is not necessary for us to learn about everything through the media,” explaining that another meeting is expected to be held this week and that negotiations between the two parties are “progressing positively” toward reactivating parliament and moving forward with the formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
