Trump Offers Putin Assistance in Finding a Solution to the War in Ukraine

ARK News.. A Kremlin adviser said that U.S. President Donald Trump offered to help find a solution to the war in Ukraine during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin that lasted nearly 90 minutes.

Yuri Ushakov, a Kremlin adviser, said early on Sunday, July 5, 2026, that President Trump offered his assistance in resolving the war in Ukraine during his conversation with President Vladimir Putin in the context of his participation this week in the NATO Summit in Turkey.

Ushakov added that the U.S. president reiterated his readiness to work toward a swift end to the fighting and to help find solutions to overcome the crisis.

He described the conversation between Putin and Trump as "highly practical and constructive," adding that Moscow continues to seek "a political and diplomatic settlement to the conflict while considering Russia's fundamental approach."

According to Ushakov, President Trump also said that U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would continue their efforts to mediate a settlement and were prepared to make another visit to Moscow.
