PM Masrour Barzani Orders Promotion of 682 Interior Ministry Officers

ARK News.. Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has issued an order promoting 682 officers serving in the Interior Ministry's Internal Security Forces to the next rank.

According to an official document issued by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers' Diwan and signed by Diwan President Omid Sabah, the promotion applies to the officers listed in the attached schedule, beginning with Colonel Omar Farouq Abdul Aziz Mohammed as serial number one and concluding with Lieutenant Kiwan Omar Arif Ali as serial number 682.

The decision states that the promotions are based on Regional Order No. 142, issued on June 28, 2026, under which the eligible officers will be granted the ranks specified alongside their names.

The document further noted that the measure was implemented in accordance with Article 10 of the Federal Internal Security Forces Service and Retirement Law No. 18 of 2011, which is in force in the Kurdistan Region, and falls within the staffing framework of the Ministry of Interior.

The administrative order also includes a provision recognizing an additional year of service to compensate for time requirements for many eligible officers, enabling their promotion to the next rank. The provision applies to specific entries within the promotion list, with the decision taking effect from the date of its issuance.
