U.S. Military Launches Missile at Vessel Allegedly Attempting to Breach Blockade
ARK News.. The U.S. military said it fired a missile at the engine room of a vessel that was allegedly attempting to breach the U.S. blockade imposed on Iran on Friday, May 30, 2026.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that it launched a Hellfire missile at the engine room of the Lian Star, a vessel flying the Gambian flag, while it was “transiting international waters in the Gulf of Oman in route to an Iranian port.”
The statement added that, prior to the strike, CENTCOM had issued “more than 20 warnings” informing the vessel that it was violating the U.S. blockade.
CENTCOM further indicated that the vessel “is no longer proceeding toward Iran,” but did not provide additional details regarding the incident.
