Dilshad Shehab: President Barzani Uses Full Influence to Protect Western Kurdistan

ARK News.. The spokesperson for the Kurdistan Regional Government, Dilshad Shehab, stated that President Masoud Barzani has deployed his full influence and international relations, particularly during his visit to Italy, to safeguard Western Kurdistan.

Shehab highlighted the ongoing efforts of the KRG leadership to calm tensions in Syrian Kurdistan and Syria, noting indicators of progress toward stability and a reduced risk of major conflict.

He emphasized that the Syrian Kurdistan issue has been central both during Barzani’s Italy visit and in his continuous communications with international decision-makers.

The spokesperson stressed that strategic monitoring by the KRG and international allies demonstrates that without the Kurdish people receiving their legitimate rights, the region cannot achieve lasting stability.

Shehab added that the KRG’s diplomatic and political efforts, along with humanitarian aid deliveries, have played a critical role in reducing tensions and preventing a potential destructive war.

He warned that any renewed instability or resurgence of terrorism in Syria would directly impact Iraq as a whole.
