Body of Former Senior Assad Regime Officer Found North of Beirut
ARK News.. Lebanese media reported that the body of a former senior officer in the ousted Assad regime’s army, Ghassan al-Na’san al-Sukhni, was found in the Keserwan area north of Beirut, hours after he went missing under mysterious circumstances.
According to the reports, contact with al-Na’san was lost late on Sunday, December 22, 2025, before his body was later discovered near a residence where he had been staying in Keserwan. As of now, Lebanese security agencies have not issued any official statement clarifying the circumstances or motives behind the incident.
Media sources indicated that al-Na’san had boarded a white Hyundai vehicle driven by an unidentified individual, after which all communication with him ceased.
Al-Na’san was originally from Qamhana, in the northern countryside of Hama, an area known for being a stronghold and recruitment base for military formations loyal to the former Assad regime.
He was a prominent field commander in what was known as the “al-Tarmah Regiment,” an elite combat unit that operated within the “Tiger Forces,” which were later restructured into the 25th Special Mission Division of the former Syrian army, led by General Suhail al-Hassan, widely known as “the Tiger.”
