International Coalition Conducts Airborne Raid in Syrian Interim Government-Controlled Area
ARK News.. A Syrian human rights source confirmed that one ISIS cell member was killed and another wounded, along with a woman and a 14-year-old minor, during an airborne operation carried out by International Coalition forces, supported by a ground unit, in the town of Maadan, located in areas controlled by the Syrian Interim Government, after entering from SDF-controlled zones.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, heavy gunfire broke out during the raid on a suspect’s house between ISIS members and Coalition forces. The operation resulted in:
• Death of one ISIS member and injury of another, who was subsequently arrested.
• Death of a woman, reportedly the suspect’s wife.
• Death of a 14-year-old child from stray gunfire.
The source added that the Syrian Interior Ministry’s public security forces did not directly participate in the operation, limiting their role to securing and protecting the perimeter of the landing zone.
Previously, a suspect was killed and another arrested during a similar airborne operation by Coalition forces in the village of al-Mustaha, near Maadan in eastern Raqqa countryside.
