Ahmad al-Sharaa: We Will Rebuild a Unified Syria From East to West

ARK News.. Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa reaffirmed his commitment to rebuilding a unified Syria on the first anniversary of the fall of the former regime, pledging to restore the country’s strength and cohesion from east to west.

On Monday, 8 December 2025, President al-Sharaa performed the dawn prayer at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, marking one year since the collapse of the previous regime. The event was attended by large crowds, including officials, community representatives, and citizens.

In a speech delivered after the prayer, al-Sharaa vowed to rebuild Syria “united from north to south, and from east to west,” emphasizing that the reconstruction process would reflect the country’s historical legacy and cultural depth.

“We will restore a strong Syria — a Syria worthy of its past and its present, a Syria deserving of its ancient civilization,” he said. “We will rebuild it by supporting the vulnerable and ensuring justice among all people.”

Al-Sharaa added that no force or obstacle would hinder the country’s path forward:

“No one, no matter how powerful, will stand in our way. We will overcome all challenges together
