Barzani: No Person or Authority Can Undermine or Prevent the Raising of the Kurdistan Flag

ARK News.. President Masoud Barzani affirmed that no individual or authority has the power to undermine the Kurdistan flag or prevent citizens from raising it, emphasizing its constitutional and national significance for all Kurds.

Barzani made the remarks on Saturday during a meeting in Pirmam with a group of Kurdish youths who had been assaulted by Iraqi security forces in Duz Khurmatu for raising the Kurdistan flag on election day, November 11, 2025.

During the meeting, President Barzani expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the courage shown by the youths and for their strong sense of Kurdish identity. He stressed that countless sacrifices and lives have been given for the honor and elevation of the Kurdistan flag.

Barzani underscored that the Kurdistan flag belongs to all Kurds and that every Kurdish individual has the constitutional and legal right to honor and take pride in the symbols and sacred values of their people.

Reaffirming a firm stance, Barzani stated that no person or authority—under any pretext—can violate the sanctity of the Kurdistan flag or prevent citizens from raising it.
