Syrian Ministry of Education Announces Completion of 823 School Renovations

ARK News.. The Syrian Ministry of Education announced the completion of renovation work on 823 schools across the country since the fall of the former regime, while restoration efforts for hundreds more continue in various provinces.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Hamza Houriye, director of the ministry’s media office, stated that the Ministry of Education is currently working on renovating 838 additional schools as part of the government’s broader plan to rebuild the educational infrastructure nationwide.
Houriye detailed the distribution of the schools already restored as follows:
• Homs: 32 schools
• Rural Damascus: 52 schools
• Damascus: 88 schools
• Tartous: 96 schools
• Hama: 56 schools
• Quneitra: 12 schools
• Deir Ez-Zour: 48 schools
• Latakia: 34 schools
• Aleppo: 46 schools
• Daraa: 39 schools
• Idlib: 320 schools
As for the schools currently under renovation, they are distributed as follows:
• Rural Damascus: 61
• Damascus: 43
• Homs: 39
• Hama: 39
• Tartous: 4
• Quneitra: 3
• Deir Ez-Zour: 40
• Latakia: 41
• Aleppo: 134
• Daraa: 102
• Idlib: 332
The ministry emphasized that restoring schools is a cornerstone of the national reconstruction process, aimed at ensuring that all children across Syria have access to safe and fully equipped learning environments.
