Erbil: KDP-Syria Holds Lecture on Good Governance in Post-Conflict States
ARK News.. The Erbil Organization of the Kurdistan Democratic Party–Syria (KDP-S) held a lecture on Thursday evening, October 23, 2025, titled “Foundations of Good Governance in Multi-Identity States Emerging from Internal Conflicts: Toward a Model for Institutional and Societal Recovery.”
The lecture was delivered by Rohat Zadeh, a lecturer at the Catholic University in Erbil and a corporate governance consultant and trainer with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Zadeh discussed the concept, principles, and foundations of good governance, presenting international experiences in institutional transformation and rebuilding social trust in post-conflict societies.
He emphasized that sound governance is key to achieving political stability and sustainable development in diverse societies.
The event also featured remarks by Dr. Abdel Hakim Bashar, a member of the KDP-S Political Bureau and head of the party’s organizations in the Kurdistan Region. In his speech, Dr. Bashar reviewed the current political situation, stressing the need to revitalize the Kurdish National Council (ENKS) and ensure its active participation in shaping Syria’s future.
He urged positive engagement in the political process, discouraging isolation or withdrawal, and called for strengthening communication channels with developments in Damascus.
Dr. Bashar also underscored the importance of empowering the younger generation and granting them real opportunities to participate in political and social life.
