Faisal Youssef: Kurds Will Remain Loyal to Both Their National Identity and Syrian Belonging

ARK News.. The official spokesperson of the Kurdish National Council (KNC) in Syria affirmed that the rights of the Kurds in Syria are based on the recognition of their national identity and on ensuring their participation within a decentralized system that respects pluralism and guarantees justice and equal citizenship.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Faisal Youssef stated: “Kurdish identity is not a temporary choice, but a deep-rooted historical truth firmly anchored in the soil of this land. We have preserved our language and culture despite all attempts at erasure and denial, for we are the children of this geography and its living memory.”

Youssef added: “Our belonging to Syria has never wavered. Our ongoing struggle has always been for the recognition of our existence and national rights within a democratic, decentralized state that ensures justice and equal citizenship for all Syrians.”

He concluded by stressing that identity is a principle that does not change, and that the Kurds will remain faithful to both their national identity and their Syrian belonging, believing that coexistence and diversity within the homeland are the foundation for building and stabilizing it.
