Barzani Headquarters Issues Clarification on Park Project in Halabja

ARK News.. The Barzani Headquarters issued a statement on Saturday, October 11, 2025, clarifying recent media reports concerning a proposed park project in the city of Halabja.

In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Over the past few days, some media outlets and social media platforms have circulated reports claiming that President Masoud Barzani had personally undertaken the expenses of granting a piece of land to the people of Halabja and transforming it into a public park as a gift to the citizens, with steps already underway to establish the project.
We would like to clarify to the people of Kurdistan, and especially to the residents of Halabja, that the responsibility for implementing development projects and serving the citizens of Halabja and all regions of Kurdistan lies with the government and the relevant authorities.
As for President Barzani’s role—as has always been the case—it consists of guiding and encouraging the government and other institutions not to forget the sacrifices of Halabja, and to ensure that all parties provide the best possible services to every part of Kurdistan, particularly to the city of Halabja.
