Afrin: Three Kurdish Candidates Win Seats in Syrian Parliament

ARK News.. October 5, 2025 – Three Kurdish candidates have secured seats in the Syrian People’s Assembly following elections held in Afrin.
After the vote count, Dr Rankin Abdo, Muhammad Sido, and Sheikh Saeed Sheikh Ismail Zadeh each won a seat in the elections that began on Sunday morning, October 5, 2025.
The winning vote counts for the candidates are as follows:
Rankin Abdo – 59 votes
Muhammad Sido – 37 votes
Sheikh Saeed Sheikh Ismail Zadeh – 37 votes
The victories mark a notable success for Kurdish representation in the Syrian legislature.
