Kurdistan Regional Government PM Receives Iraqi Parliamentary Delegation
ARK News.. Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met on Monday, September 22, 2025, with a delegation from the Iraqi Council of Representatives led by First Deputy Speaker Mohsen al-Mandalawi.
The meeting, also attended by Second Deputy Speaker Shakhawan Abdullah, focused on the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the wider region, as well as preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Both sides reaffirmed the need to resolve outstanding disputes between Erbil and Baghdad, stressing that any settlement must respect Iraq’s federal system and the Kurdistan Region’s constitutional status. They underscored that guaranteeing the Region’s constitutional rights and financial entitlements is crucial for stability and prosperity across Iraq.
